Raw: Sasha Banks vs Paige, Becky Lynch and Charlotte vs Alicia Fox and Nikki Bella

Raw: Sasha Banks vs Paige, Becky Lynch and Charlotte vs Alicia Fox and Nikki Bella

On Raw this week we got two divas matches for the second time in a row. Both were pretty lengthily and good quality matches. Firstly we had Sasha Banks vs Paige. Paige was out first with Charlotte and Becky, followed by Tamina, Naomi and Sasha. Sasha had a new nameplate which was pretty cool, it also had the B.A.D  slogan, which I'm guessing means the teams are going to be pretty long term. We were then shown a short promo hyping Sasha Banks, which I thought was good. The match began with the two locking up, taking them both to the floor. They both got back up to their feet, still locked up and Sasha managed to gain the initial control by pushing her opponent into the corner. Paige ran towards Sasha and they locked up again, taking them back to the mat. The lock up continued to outside of the ring. The lock up broke up when members of both teams approached. The two got back into the ring, leaving the remaining team members trash talking each other outside of the ring. For the first time in the match Paige gained control by flinging Sasha from the ropes and giving her a knee to the face. Paige went for the pin but Sasha kicked out at one. Paige pulled Sasha to her feet and then slammed her back into the ground and went for another pin attempt. Sasha again kicked out at one. Paige repeated her previous maneuver and went for her third pin attempt, in which Sasha kicked out at one. Paige threw Sasha into the turnbuckle and gave her numerous elbows to the face. Paige then ran towards Sasha, but Sasha dodged her and went for a wheelbarrow pinning maneuver, in which Paige kicked out at two. Sasha hit Paige to the face and regained control by focusing on the arm. She grabbed the palm of Paige and began to twist the arm, before running up to the top turnbuckle and throwing Paige across the ring. Paige quickly gained momentum with a clothesline, and then both women went for a drop kick at the same time. They stared eachother out for a few moments. Sasha went to shake hands with Paige, but instead attempted to kick Paige, which was countered and left Sasha flying face first into the mat. Paige got on top of Sasha and went for a head butt and pinned Sasha for a two count. Paige then went for a suplex, which got Sasha down for two. The camera then went backstage to Team Bella watching the match on a screen. Paige locked Sasha's arm into a submission hold, but Sasha managed to momentarily get to her feet until Paige dragged her back down into a new submission hold. Sasha countered and rolled Paige up for a one count, but Paige countered backwards and locked in the arm submission again. Sasha finally managed to escape the hold for a few seconds but it was immediately locked back in by Paige. After a struggle on the mat, both women were brought to their feet, and Sasha kneed Paige to the stomach, finally escaping the hold. She then went for an elbow to the back of Paige's head, and ran towards the rope, but was avoided by Paige twice and received a kick to the jaw, pushing her out of the ring. Paige then crossbodied onto all of Team B.A.D from the turnbuckle. The show then went to commercial and returned with Paige locked in a rest hold in the middle of the ring. We were then shown what happened during the commercial, in which we saw the referee ordering Tamina, Naomi, Charlotte and Becky Lynch to leave ring side. Back to the action and Sasha went for a cover and Paige kicked out at two. Sasha smashed Paige's face into the turnbuckle and gave her four kicks to the head, as the camera quickly returns to Team Bella backstage. Sasha went for her double knees before dragging Paige out of the corner and going for the cover, getting a two count. Sasha pulled Paige to her knees and pressed her throat onto the middle rope with her knee before going onto the apron and mocking Paige. Out of no where Paige rolled up Sasha for the two count. Sasha clothelined her back to the mat. Sasha went for the pin and Paige kicked out at two. Sasha locked in another rest hold and held it for quite a while. Paige managed to escape by pushing Sasha back into the turnbuckle a few times, until Sasha countered and threw Paige into it herself. Paige managed to eventually get the upper-hand, and threw Sasha into the corner and gave her multiple knees to the face. She went for three clotheslines and a drop kick. Sasha then received another kick to the jaw, and Paige went for the PTO, but Sasha blocked it. Paige kneed Sasha to the face as she tried to get to her feet. Paige went for the pin and Sasha kicked out at two. Paige flung Sasha into the corner, but Sasha countered and flung Paige's face into the second turnbuckle using her legs.  Sasha ran towards Paige and gave her double knees right to the face, Paige kicked out of Sasha's pin attempt at two. Sasha went for the double knees again, but Paige moved and kicked Sasha to the face. Paige then avoided Sasha again, leading to her being in the corner. Paige got her on the mat, and locked in an innovative submission hold, but Sasha got to the bottom rope. Paige grabbed Sasha for a scoop slam, but Sasha wriggled free and hit a back statement, which was badly botched, leading to Paige tapping out.

The match was really long, and it really told a story, but honestly, I was expecting a bit more. I don't know if my standards are now higher, but I found this match a bit too slow and dull, and it certainly had too many rest holds. As for the botch, I'm not entirely sure who's fault it was, but I'm leaning towards Sasha. Due to timing, and the fact that it was a pretty great match, I'll give it a score of 8/10.

Also on Raw we got a four divas tag team match; Alicia Fox and Nikki Bella vs Becky Lynch and Charlotte. Charlotte, Becky and Paige came out first, and they were followed by Brie, Nikki and Alicia. The match began with the Divas Champion and Becky Lynch in the ring. They locked up for a few seconds before Nikki took control of Becky's arm, eventually leading to Becky being slammed onto the mat. Nikki then continued to focus on the arm, until Becky managed to fight out of it, and flip Nikki onto the mat. Becky then locked in an arm submission on the mat as Nikki struggled. Becky pulled Nikki to her feet and Charlotte tagged in. The threw Nikki into the ropes and did a double drop kick. Nikki then  ran towards Charlotte but got caught in Charlotte's web, a unique pinning maneuver. Nikki kicked out at one. Nikki then received three chops from Charlotte. Charlotte then ran towards Nikki, but received a kick to the face, lading to Nikki regaining control, and again focusing on the arm. Alicia Fox tagged in and immediately began targeting the arm. I must say, Alicia looked great at the beginning of the match. It was probably the most aggressive I've ever seen her. Charlotte then attempted to grab the rope but Alicia managed to pull her back and continued to torture her arm. Charlotte suddenly flipped out of the arm lock and knocked Alicia right onto her neck. Charlotte then went for a huge running knee drop, before the screen changed to Team B.A.D watching backstage. Alicia Fox was now in the corner, and Charlotte ran towards her but was thrown over the ropes. but hit Alicia right in the gut with her shoulder. Nikki then distracted Charlotte on the apron, and Charlotte received a big boot from Alicia Fox, knocking her on her back. Alicia Forced Charlotte onto her knees and proceeded kicking her on the back, and executed a perfect  northern lights suplex, scoring a two count. Nikki then tagged in, but Alicia stayed in the ring and hit Charlotte in the stomach. Nikki then swept her legs and went for the pin. Charlotte kicked out at two. Nikki then locked in a rest hold, now seemingly targeting Charlotte's back. Charlotte eventually escaped by rolling Nikki over her, but this meant Nikki could take out Becky Lynch. Nikki ran back and clotheslined Charlotte and began taunting her. Charlotte reached for the tag but Nikki pulled her away, and executed a nice springboard suplex, Nikki then went for the pin and Charlotte kicked out at two. Alicia was then tagged back in, and they both double suplexed Charlotte. Alicia then hit an elbow drop on Charlotte, and went for another pin, with Charlotte again kicking out at two. Alicia then used her long legs to execute a submission hold, which Charlotte rolled over and pinned Alicia for the two count, This move allegedly caused Alicia's concussion. Alicia stood up but was knocked back on her feet as Charlotte went for a jack knife pin, in which Alicia kicked out at one. Charlotte then tagged in Becky who was extremely fired up. She hit Alicia with a clothesline and knocked Nikki off the apron. She then hit Alicia with a drop kick, and two unique suplex's. Becky went for the pin but Nikki broke it up and threw Becky into the ring post, but seconds later received a spear from Charlotte. Alicia then rolled up Becky for a one count, but it was countered into the disarmour, and Alicia tapped out.

I found this match a lot more entertaining than the first match, but it got a lot less time. I will give it a score of 8/10 as well.

There was also a segment involving Summer Rae and Lana which I found hilarious. The feud is starting to get a little dry though, because without Dolph, there's not really anywhere to go other than a match. I don't know how long Dolph will be off but I don't think the storyline can last much longer without him. I must say that I have been very impressed with Summer's mic skills, and I think this could be the beginning of a huge push for her.

Diva Freakk Weekly Roundup

Diva Freakk Weekly Roundup

This was another great week for the divas. I hope for this to continue, and I honestly see this change being permanent.

5. Bayley

This week Bayley made her triumphant in ring return, and was also placed into the women's title picture. I am definitely, along with most people, expecting Bayley to win the belt. She really deserves it.

4. Lana

I am really enjoying the current feud between Lana and Summer Rae. It was really amped up this week and was a part of the main event, which of course made it one of the highlights of the week.

3. Sasha Banks

This week Sasha Banks got a tag team victory on Raw and appeared on Smackdown.

2. Charlotte

It's been difficult to decipher which way round Sasha and Charlotte should be, as they are both equal in terms of wins this week, but based on the overall momentum, I believe Charlotte has been booked slightly stronger than Sasha, getting two wins in a row over Team Bella.

1. Summer Rae

I am so happy that Summer Rae is finally getting some well deserved screen time. She has got the ball and is running with it, and it's something I know a lot of fans have been waiting a long time to see. I am so impressed at how well Summer is interacting with Lana and Rusev, and the fact that she was part of the main event really solidified her as being the number 1 diva this week.

Smackdown: Naomi and Sasha Banks vs Brie Bella and Nikki Bella

Smackdown: Naomi and Sasha Banks vs Brie Bella and Nikki Bella

On Smackdown this week we got a lengthily tag team match, which, for Smackdown is very unusual for the divas. I'm still in disbelief that this whole divas revolution is actually legit and the division is finally starting to be taken seriously. About damn time.
First out were Sasha and Naomi, accompanied by Tamina. Next Out were the Bella's and Fox. The match began with Naomi and the divas champion, Nikki Bella. Nikki immediately took control, but it was short lived. Naomi briefly dominated until Nikki regained the control with a spine buster. The match went very back and forth between both teams, but both looking equally dominant throughout, making it hard to call. In the end Naomi ate the pin after a rack attack from Nikki.

I loved that this match got a good amount of time. For that reason I will give it a score of 7/10/.Honestly, I think the match could have been a little more interesting, as I found myself loosing interest.

NXT: Cassie vs Eva Marie

NXT: Cassie vs Eva Marie

On NXT this week we all got to see the highly anticipated in ring return of Eva Marie. The way she was hyped over the weeks made me expect more from her than we got. The video's she was posting on social media particularly caught my attention and really impressed me, but nothing in this match made me see any real potential. People will praise this girl because of how far she's supposedly come, but will trash a diva like Cameron, who is evidently far better than Eva in the ring. I'm not saying Eva was terrible, she's clearly come a long way, but the match was still bad. I'm not going to sugar coat my opinion because of how new Eva is. The match was pretty bad. I can't say I was impressed with Cassie either. I don't know much about her, but wasn't she on the indies? She seemed to be repeating the same move throughout the match, and it got so boring. Both also looked very unpolished and uncomfortable, in my opinion. It seems like I'm trashing Eva, but I honestly did see a large improvement, I just wish it wasn't so hyped. All of the build up, and instagram video's made me expect a lot more. I think I would have been more impressed if this just came out of the blue.

I must say, the finisher did surprise me, and I was impressed. I am definitely expecting Eva to improve, but I really don't see them keeping her in NXT for long. I'm just hoping they don't put her in the divas title picture whilst still being at the level she's at now, because she doesn't even compare to the top main roster divas at the moment. I hope they give her a decent amount of time to to get more comfortable in the ring and in front of a crowd. I will this match a score of 3/10.

We also got a match between Emma and Bayley which I thought was really good. I was actually really impressed with Emma and especially Dana this week. I found Dana hilarious as a manager and I also thought Emma's heel work had made a vast improvement.

After the match Bayley stated that she wanted a match with Charlotte and that she's coming for the NXT womens championship. I will give this match a score of 7/10.

Raw: Charlotte vs Brie Bella, Sasha Banks and Naomi vs Paige and Becky Lynch, Summer Rae and Lana

Raw: Charlotte vs Brie Bella, Sasha Banks and Naomi vs Paige and Becky Lynch, Summer Rae and Lana

We got such an amazing Raw this week, particularly for the divas. We got a singles match. a tag team match. a backstage interview, and a brawl in the main event. It was crazy how much screen time they got, and my only hope is that this is how the divas are consistently booked from now on.
Firstly we got Brie Bella vs Charlotte. Team B.A.D came out first, as they were on commentary for the match, followed by Paige, Becky Lynch and Charlotte, and finally Alicia Fox, Nikki Bella and Brie Bella. I thought the match was really good. It got around 8 minutes, which is amazing for the divas on Raw, and Charlotte and Brie really did deliver

Brie certainly kept up with Charlotte in my opinion, and I thought they had great chemistry. I also thought Tamina, Sasha and Naomi were all really good on commentary. I was actually more entertained by the commentary than the actual match. I was hoping Brie would get the win to make it equal, but the fact that there was another divas match later on made it a bit more fair, now that Team B.A.D have also gotten a win over Team Paige. Overall I will give this match a score 8/10.

Next we got the team of Becky Lynch and Paige vs Naomi and Sasha Banks. Team Bella were out first on commentary, Team Paige were out next, followed by Team B.A.D. The match got 13 minutes, which is again, amazing. The divas got a total of around 24 minutes on Raw, which is probably the most in years.

I didn't think this match was great, it didn't really give us anything amazing, but I was happy with it. I will give it a score of 7/10.

The next divas we saw were Lana and Summer Rae in a backstage segment which I thought was hilarious. I am so happy that Summer is getting regular screen time and I'm especially glad it's with Lana. They also had a brawl during the main event match which I really enjoyed, I think they have great chemistry and I can't wait for Lana to get in the ring.

Diva Freakk Weekly Roundup

Diva Freakk Weekly Roundup

This week was amazing for the divas. We had three debuts, an NXT title match, and a triple threat. This is the beginning of a new era for the divas and I am so optimistic about the future of the division, for the first time in years.

5. Naomi

This week Naomi impressed on the mic, and was given more time to shine on Smackdown. I am fearful for Naomi, and I don't think she's gonna get the recognition she deserves, especially since the NXT debuts, but I love what she's doing at the moment.

4. Brie Bella

Brie didn't really show anything special throughout the week, but I really enjoyed her participation in the triple threat. I thought she really kept up with the NXT girls and proved many people, including myself, wrong.

3. Becky Lynch

I think it's obvious why Becky is on my list. Becky made her main roster debut this week, and whilst she didn't participate in any matches, she still managed to get more over with the crowd in one week, than most of the divas have in their entire career.

2. Charlotte

Charlotte also made her main roster debut this week, and won a triple threat at Battleground. On top of that she had an amazing match on NXT against Sasha for the Women's title.

1. Sasha Banks

Sasha is the third NXT diva that made her debut this week, and whilst she didn't win any matches she was the stand out performer for me. Her character is portrayed so well, and she just delivers everything to perfection. She also successfully defended her title on NXT this week.

Battleground: Brie Bella vs Charlotte vs Sasha Banks

Battleground: Brie Bella vs Charlotte vs Sasha Banks

There was no match announced in advance for the Divas, and I honestly wasn't expecting one. Stephanie McMahon announced in a backstage segment that there will be a triple threat match with one member representing each team. We later got another backstage segment with Charlotte, Paige and Becky Lynch.

Team B.A.D came out first, followed by Team Paige and then finally, Team Bella. The crowd burst into 'NXT' chants as the team decided which diva would represent them. The Divas champion was the first to nominate herself, and then Charlotte stepped up to challenge her, followed by Sasha Banks from Team B.A.D. After a brief stare down, Nikki walked out of the ring whilst saying "not tonight" indicating that she in fact won't be taking part in the match, and gets her sister, Brie to replace her. This action received loud boos, and at this point the crowd seemed pretty divided between Sasha and Charlotte. This is definitely the loudest crowd interaction the divas have had in a long time.
The match itself was pretty equally dominated. Brie surprisingly kept up with Sasha and Charlotte and really held her own in the match. It does get annoying to hear constant comparisons of the NXT and Main Roster girls.

I was happy with the result of the match. It really didn't bother me who won it and I wasn't surprised by the outcome. I think all three of the women performed to their best, and I am loving this amazing change to the division. I will give this match a score of 9/10.

Battleground: Fantasy Booking

Battleground: Fantasy Booking

There is currently not going to be a match for the divas this week at Battleground. I know it's unlikely, but I would like Nikki Bella to maybe issue an open challenge for the title. I would love to see Nikki face Sasha for the title. I definitely would want Nikki to retain, but I think it's a match everyone would want to see. I'm certainly not expecting this to happen at all, but I think it would be good for Nikki to actually defend the title, because we're clearly not getting a title match at Summerslam.

Battleground: My Predictions

Battleground: My Predictions

Currently there is no match announced for Battleground, and I don't think there will be. However, I do think the divas will get a lengthily segment on Sunday. I'm not really sure how it will play out but I'm guessing it will go in a similar way to the segment on Raw. I think 'Team Bella' will come out and say something heelish which will lead to 'Team Paige' and 'Team Bad' coming out and eventually end in a brawl. I'm expecting 'Team Paige' to stand tall at the end.

Smackdown: Sasha Banks, Naomi and Tamina

Smackdown: Sasha Banks, Naomi and Tamina

Unfortunately we didn't get a match on Smackdown, which I thought was a bit disappointing. I was actually really looking forward to seeing a match this week, as there are so many different combinations they could do now. It's so nice to have this refreshing feeling within the divas division. I guess they're saving something for Raw, or Battleground. I'm expecting another lengthily segment on Sunday, to compensate for not having a match. From what I've heard, there are only 5 matches on the card, so there's a great possibility, and after Raw, I honestly don't see them forgetting about the divas.

On Smackdown this week we got a backstage interview featuring Sasha Banks, Tamina and Naomi. I loved it. I absolutely adore this team. It's by far my favourite. Sasha is the spark Naomi needs and I am so excited to see what's going to come out of this. The interview was pretty short and consisted of the typical heel narrative, which Naomi and Sasha excel in. Tamina is a great addition to the team in my opinion and I find the little stare she does towards JoJo at the end of each interview frickin' hilarious.

NXT: Charlotte vs Sasha Banks (c), Eva Marie

NXT: Charlotte vs Sasha Banks (c), Eva Marie

To me, it felt like NXT revived itself this week in terms of the women. Over the past few weeks the matches produced have been some what, lackluster and we've been seeing a lot of squash matches. This week we got an amazing match from the two top dogs at NXT, and honestly I feel like these women could never put on a bad match. The match had speed, power and psychology. It was all anyone could ask for. I, along with every other diva fan can only hope that these two women (and Becky Lynch) can take the divas division in the right direction on the Main Roster. However I really don't like it when people refer to them as the 'saviours' of the divas division. They will not make the main roster divas perform better, in fact I believe that the majority of the main roster divas can wrestle at a standard that we would all be surprised at, if given the chance. What the NXT divas can do, is show Vince and the creative team that they can out perform the men and put on main event worthy matches, such as the match we got this week. There is no way that anyone backstage can deny what these three women can do because they have shown the world that they can do it, unlike the main roster divas. That's the difference. We have no idea whether divas such as Nikki, Alicia and Summer can put on 20 minute matches, so WWE can make us believe that they can't, and they can get away with not letting them show the best of the ability. Everyone has seen and can see what the NXT divas can do in the ring, which gives them the leverage they need to start getting time and storylines. I believe that these debuts will 100% improve the division.

No one was expecting Sasha and Charlotte to do anything less than perfection, and of course they brought their A game once again. I feel like NXT will definitely feel empty without Sasha, Charlotte and Becky, but I think Bayley is definitely capable of carrying the division, relying on the fact that Carmella, Alexa and Dana improve in the ring, but Emma is also there to support all of them. I will give this match a score of 9.5/10.

We also got Eva Marie on the mic and I was extremely impressed. She's like a new women. The way she taunted the crowd and handled the abuse they were giving her was an amazing improvement. She told the crowd that she will be making her in ring debut next week, and I must say, I am looking forward to it. This is the first time I've seen genuine potential in Eva, and it's exciting, but I do hope she stays in NXT for at least a year, and isn't rushed to the main roster still being mediocre.

Raw: Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks debut, Divas segment, Tough Enough contestants

Raw: Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks debut, Divas segment, Tough Enough contestants

Oh my God. It was like I died and went to heaven. THIS is what I've been asking for. This is the wave of fresh air needed to revive the divas division. This was honestly one of the best diva segments I've seen in the past 3 years, and is 100% the best diva moment of 2015. Everything about it was perfect. Stephanie being involved added an extra touch, and my worry that Naomi and Tamina would be left out disappeared. I loved every second of it. I love the idea of the three teams. I have no idea where this is going but so far so good.

The segment began with Nikki Bella on the mic. Along side her were Brie Bella and Alicia Fox. Nikki stated that she runs the divas division and 'Team Bella' have all the power. This statement lead to an annoyed Stephanie McMahon coming out to confront the Divas Champion. Stephanie announced that there would be changes to the division as she invited Paige to the ring, much to Nikki's objections, which were quickly cut off by Steph (weren't these two friends?). Steph said that Paige couldn't do it alone and invited Becky Lynch to the ring, and later invited Charlotte down. Naomi's music then hit and out she came, along side Tamina. A fired up Naomi took out her frustration and said that her and Tamina were all the competition the division needs. Steph then said she was glad they came out, and she invited someone to the ring who is 'just like' Naomi, which turned out to be Sasha Banks. This then lead to a huge brawl. The three teams were established as Team Paige (Paige/Becky/Charlotte), Team Bella (Brie/Nikki/Alicia) and Team Naomi (Naomi/Tamina/Sasha)/

I knew all three NXT divas were backstage, but I was so shocked to see Becky. It was one of those moments that I'll never forget.

Later in the night we got to see all the Tough Enough contestants on stage. This wasn't really anything to talk about. It was very brief.

Summer Rae was also briefly involved. She valeted for Rusev but didn't really do anything.

Diva Freakk Weekly Roundup

Diva Freakk Weekly Roundup

This week wasn't great at all. Average matches, boring, repetitive story telling. I'm bored of this whole division at the moment. The week began with Paige vs Brie. Enough said. We then got Sasha Banks and Charlotte vs Dana Brooke and Emma which could have been better, and finally we got Brie Bella and Alicia Fox vs Tamina and Naomi, which was again, average.

5. Alicia Fox

This week Alicia managed to get a pinfall victory over Tamina and Naomi on Smackdown in a tag team match, and also helped Brie win her match against Brie. Alicia remained consistent in the ring, but didn't really do anything great.

4. Brie Bella

Brie got two victories this week. Neither of her matches were impressive, but I wasn't expecting them to be. Brie doesn't really bring anything to the table in terms of entertainment, but the fact that she won both of her two matches this week, forced me to put her on my list.

3. Dana Brooke

Dana participated in the best match of this week, and she also impressed on the mic. Dana is slowly improving every week which is all I'm asking for. I still don't quite get her character or alliance with Emma, but hopefully it will all come together at the next tapings.

2. Charlotte

Charlotte unsurprisingly performed to a high standard this week in the tag team match, and it was nice to see some sort of storyline going on. Next week we're getting Sasha vs Charlotte for the title, which will obviously be amazing.

1. Sasha Banks

My number one this week is Sasha Banks. Not only did she get the victory in the tag team match, but she once again delivered on the mic and throughout the match. Her gimmick is perfect, her look is on point and everything is fitting together perfectly.

Smackdown: Brie Bella and Alicia Fox vs Naomi and Tamina

Smackdown: Brie Bella and Alicia Fox vs Naomi and Tamina

This week on Smackdown we once again had a match that no one really cared about. It was a step up from Paige vs Brie but that's not saying much. Brie and Alicia came to the ring accompanied by Nikki and then out came Tamina and Naomi. I must say, Tamina was looking really good in the ring during this match. She didn't have much time, as the match was literally 3 minutes long, but from what we saw of her, it looked as if she's made some improvements and extended her move set. I actually really liked the finish of the match too. I thought it was really well set up and executed, but what I really didn't like, was the fact that Alicia got the pin but the Bella's theme tune played. That annoyed me. It annoys me how they are putting Alicia below the Bella's when she is clearly superior. I know it's a ridiculous thing to complain about, but it's something that really sticks in my mind.

The match began with Brie and Naomi. They locked up and Naomi pushed Brie against the ropes until she was pulled back by the ref. Brie then went on to shove Naomi and received a slap back for it. Brie pounced on Naomi, and then ended up shoving her into the bottom rope, and executed her 'Brie Mode' knee to the face. She went for the pin and Naomi kicked out at two. Tamina was then tagged in and took control. She threw Brie into the corner and went for a corner clothesline, but instead got thrown into the corner herself and received three kicks to the chest from Brie. Brie then attempted a cross body, but was caught by Tamina who then slammed Brie into the mat, which I thought was impressive. Tamina went for the cover and Brie kicked out at two. Tamina continued to hit Brie down to the mat and threw her back to the opposite corner and kicked her in the stomach twice before tagging in Naomi. Naomi then kicked Brie another 5 times to the stomach, dragged her out of the corner and went for a scoop slam, which Brie avoided. Brie, now behind Naomi pushed her to the ground and reached for the tag, but Naomi dragged her back and proceeded to kick her on the mat. She went for her turnbuckle bulldog, but it was again avoided by Brie, and sent Naomi flying into the corner between the ropes. Brie then managed to tag in Alicia, who immediately went for two beautiful drop kicks and a hair pull slam. She then knocked Tamina off the apron, and kicked Naomi right to the head in the corner. Alicia then flung Naomi into the ropes, but Tamina managed to tag in unaware to Alicia. Alicia performed a tilt-a-whirl back breaker on Naomi, and went for the pin, but Tamina had already tagged in. Tamina pulled Alicia from the ground, and hit her to the back before putting her in the position for the Samoan drop. Nikki then stood up on the apron to distract Tamina, whilst Brie entered the ring and pulled Alicia off Tamina's back and pushed her into the ropes, sending Naomi flying, and then out of no where, Alicia hit the Scissor Kick and got the win.

This match was very short, but I liked the fact that both sides maintained their heel attitude. Naomi and Tamina were the heels throughout the match, but the ending solidified that the Bella's and Alicia were still heel as well. One thing this match unsurprisingly lacked was storyline development, but there's not much of a story anyway. In all honesty, I would have preferred to see Summer Rae vs Emma. I still don't unbderstand why they have to have the Bella's, Alicia, Naomi and Tamina on Smackdown as well as Raw. It would have been nice to see Natalya or Cameron (who we haven't seen in 11 weeks) have a match. I will give this match a score of 6/10.

Thank you for reading.

NXT: Dana Brooke and Emma vs Sasha Banks and Charlotte

NXT: Dana Brooke and Emma vs Sasha Banks and Charlotte

This week on NXT we finally got to see Sasha back in the ring and she was teaming up with former rival, Charlotte. I thought the match was pretty good. We didn't get to see anything outstanding, but it was fun to watch. Dana Brooke and Emma came out together and I was disappointed not to hear Emma's new theme tune again, but I'm sure she'll have a match on the next tapings. Sasha then came out, in a gear that I don't really like. I think she looks much better in darker colours, and the red and white one, rather than the bright fluorescent colours, as I don't think they suit her character at all. Dana then spoke on the mic, and I think she did pretty well, especially considering how new she is. Sasha then spoke well on the mic, and I like the fact that she still maintains her heel attitude, whilst playing the babyface in this situation. Something the Bella's can't do. Charlotte then came out and offered to be Sasha's partner on the condition that she gets something in return, which we later find out is a title shot for next week.
The majority of the match is controlled by Dana and Emma, and Sasha ended up getting the win by making Dana tap out to the 'Bank Statement'.

Overall, this match was pretty good, but I felt like it was missing something. There was nothing that made me say 'wow', which is something we're all learning to expect from the women in NXT. The length of the match wasn't that great either, so that could be a factor. I'll give this match a score of 7/10.

Raw: Brie Bella vs Paige

Raw: Brie Bella vs Paige

On Raw we got Brie vs Paige. It feels like I'm saying the same thing every week. In terms of storyline development, what difference is Paige vs Brie, to Paige vs Alicia Fox? There is no difference. They're basically just giving us the same match up. Their overall aim is clearly to try and get the audience behind Paige, and to do this they have to build up 'Team Bella' as dominant, but there are better ways of doing it. If I was writing this storyline, there would be backstage segments portraying the Bella's as catty heel characters, and even though this is cliché, it's better than the writers relying on what's happening in the ring to tell the story. In order to get over as heels, the Bella's need to talk. They need to do something. The casual fans probably don't know if they are heels or faces, so why would they care who wins and who looses? because in all honesty I don't even know myself.
It feels as if they are trying to re make the Mickie/Laycool feud. Well one thing that is missing from this storyline that was present in that one, was consistent characters. Laycool would NEVER switch from heel to face. Everyone hated them. Everyone knew exactly who they were and what characters they were. For whatever reason, everyone wanted them to loose. The audience, because they were heels, and the IWC because they were over pushed for a very long time. That is what they need to figure out. They need to find a character that everyone hates and that is not the Bella's. The Bella's are holding this storyline back. I know it's not their fault, but it's them either way. It's too late for them now. They need a fresh face in the title picture. I think a perfect candidate would be Cameron. She's decent in the ring, presents her character very well and is disliked by the IWC. Paige vs Cameron as a feud for the title would be much better than what we're getting now.

The match began with Nikki, Brie and Alicia already in the ring, and once again Paige gets an entrance, whilst the divas champion doesn't. We then got a quick reminder of the events of last weeks Raw, and the match started. The two quickly locked up and ended up on the floor, attempting to out strengthen each other. They both got back to their feet and Paige got Brie into the corner, and began with some kicks to the stomach, and ended with stomps to the chest of Brie. Paige then ran into an elbow to the face and was thrown over the top rope by Brie, who managed to avoid a slap from Paige, and gave one in return. Paige was then knocked down to ringside and thrown back in by Brie. Brie went for the pin, and Paige kicked out at two. The camera then went on to Tamina and Naomi backstage watching the match, which was interesting (They both looked great by the way). Back to the match, and Brie had Paige locked into a unique rest hold, which she was trapped in for quite a while, until she rolled Brie up, but Brie kicked out at two. Brie then went for a clothesline, after which, Paige attempted to crawl to the ropes, until Brie caught up with her, and choked her over the second rope. Whilst the ref was busy, Alicia slapped Paige from the sidelines. Brie then screeched "Brie Mode" and went for her knee to the face, but Paige quickly moved and it ended up hitting both Nikki and Alicia, who both fell to the ground. Brie being distracted, was then rolled up by Paige for the two count, but Paige quickly got to her feet and kneed Brie to the head, and went for the pin, which again Brie kicked out at, at two. Paige then threw Brie into the corner, and follwed it with a clothesline, more knees to the face and then more clotheslines. Brie tried to fight back, but received a kick to the face. Paige then attemped to go for the PTO, but it was countered by Brie, who flung Paige into the ropes. Brie then walked away and Paige followed her and threw her into the corner again. As Paige approached Brie, she received a double kick to the face and an attempted drop kick, but Paige avoided it. Nikki then got up onto the apron in order to distract Paige, but Paige using Brie as a barricade got rid of her, and later kicked Alicia to the face, knocking her off the other side, but out of nowhere, Brie hit the Bella Buster and got the win. The three members of team Bella then proceeded to attack Paige after the match.

There was also another diva segment later in the show, between Lana and Summer Rae, but neither got to to talk on the mic so I won't address it.

Overall, this Raw match was disappointing for obvious reasons. The match wasn't bad, but we are getting the same thing every week. With the rumours of it being Nikki, Brie and Alicia Fox vs Paige, Charlotte and Sasha Banks at Summerslam, it doesn't look like there will be a change in storyline any time soon. I will give this match a score of 5/10.

Diva Freakk Weekly Roundup

Diva Freakk Weekly Roundup

This week was pretty average for the divas, It began with a great match on Raw between Alicia Fox and then went onto a pretty good match between Carmella and Emma and then we had an okay match on Smackdown with Brie Bella vs Naomi and finally we got Tamina vs Paige vs Nikki Bella for the divas title in another pretty good match.
These matches may have been good, but the lack of storyline development is taking away from it. We all know what is gonna happen so they may as well just get on with it.

5. Carmella

My number 5 diva is Carmella. This is due to the fact that she showed significant improvement in the ring, and really showed her potential as a babyface this week.

4. Tamina

Tamina is my number 4 diva this week because I thought she was the stand out wrestler in Japan and really showed that she can be taken seriously as a title contender.

3. Nikki Bella

Nikki is my number 3 diva this week because she successfully defended her divas championship and as per usual, performed well in Japan. Another point, is she's is actually managing to sustain a character at the moment.

2. Lana

Everyone knows Lana is amazing on the mic, but we have never seen her get as physical as she did this week. The cat fight was perfection. It was aggressive and bitchy, and you could really feel the story they were trying to put across. I am so excited to see more of this storyline.

1. Summer Rae

This week really showed everyone why Summer should be a top heel. She's great on the mic, and we all know she can go in the ring, and I feel like this storyline is the beginning of a huge push for her, and by the end of the year I'm hoping she will be in the title picture.

Beast In The East: Tamina vs Paige vs Nikki Bella (C)

Beast In The East: Tamina vs Paige vs Nikki Bella (C)

This match was actually pretty good. There was nothing in it that got me saying "wow" but I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. I think Tamina did particularly well. She was quicker on her feet than she usually is, and even though she was mostly outside of the ring, she brought more to the table then Paige and Nikki. The match got an okay amount of time but we all knew what the outcome would be anyway, so I can't imagine that many people cared, because I certainly didn't, but at least it was better than the last triple threat.

Okay, so I know I didn't really say much about this match, but it's really late and I'm tired. I will give it a score of 7/10.

Smackdown: Brie Bella vs Naomi

Smackdown: Brie Bella vs Naomi

Okay, so this week we got Naomi vs Brie Bella on Smackdown. Ugh. This match was so wrong in my opinion. Everything was done badly. It has nothing to do with the in ring work, it was just the whole production of it, I don't understand why Brie was heel and Naomi was face. Of course I get that they're building up to Tamina and Naomi joining 'Team Paige', but does she really have to be babyface? Why can't they just stick with the whole "I hate you, but I hate the Bella's more" thing? She doesn't have to be face. And then you've got Brie, who is shouting 'Brie Mode' during her matches, obviously forgetting she's supposed to be a heel. This girl can not be a heel. She can't do it. Turn the damn Bella's face, because I can not deal with this frustration any more. The actual in ring work was average. Nothing special at all. Bland and boring. I don't get why these matches have to happen on Smackdown. With Nikki, Paige and Tamina in Japan, this match was pointless, and just added to Naomi's collection of losses. Smackdown should be the show for Cameron, Natalya and Emma to have matches. Honestly, I would have loved Summer Rae to have gotten a match. She could have faced Nattie. It would be something different, and it would also establish her pairing with Rusev, if he accompanied her. It's just this lack of effort that gets me down.

The match started with the two briefly locking up, until Brie took control with Naomi's arm. Naomi then went for Brie's hair for a few seconds, until Brie regained control of the arm. Naomi then flipped over Brie's arm, and tackled her to the ground, and left her on the mat after a kick to the face, she then went for the pin attempt and Brie kicked out at one. Naomi then pulled Brie up and began working on her arm, whilst Alicia Fox cheered from ring side. Brie then went for the rope, and backflipped over Naomi's arm, and then slapped her in the face, and then laughed, attempting to act like a heel. Naomi then chased Brie to the outside, and avoided an arm from Alicia, only to be clotheslined by Brie seconds later. Brie threw Naomi back into the ring, and kicked her two times before pulling her to her feet and attempting to throw her into the turnbuckle, only to be countered and ending up in the corner herself. Naomi ran towards Brie to receive an elbow to the face and an impressive missile drop kick. Naomi kicked out at two. Brie then locked in a submission hold, which Naomi managed to escape from quite quickly, leading to Brie receiving a powerful drop kick. Naomi then ran towards Brie and ended up being thrown onto the ropes and receiving a knee to the face, after Brie screeched "Brie Mode" (ugh). Naomi again kicked out at two. Brie then took Naomi to the turnbuckle and smashed her face into it once before turning her around to kick her in the stomach 7 times, only to be pulled away by the ref. She then went for a running bulldog and Naomi once again kicked out at two. Brie then went for a headlock, which Naomi went on to escape with a few punches. Brie then received an awesome 'double footed eat defeat' from Naomi, which left Brie in the corner. Naomi ran towards her again but got flipped over the top rope, but she managed to get the upper hand again with a slap. When she got back into the ring Alicia Fox grabbed her leg, causing a distraction leading to Brie hitting a Bella Buster for the 3 count.

So, as you can probably tell I wasn't a huge fan of this match. It was pointless. It was so pointless, that kayfabe wise, I didn't care who won, but I would have like to see Naomi pick up the win. I will give this match a score of 5/10.

We also got a cute little segment from Summer Rae and Rusev. Who would've thought this pairing would happen? I am really happy that Summer is getting TV time, because she is such a great personality. I loved her part on the mic in this segment and I found Rusev hilarious.

NXT: Carmella vs Emma, Eva Marie, Sasha Banks

NXT: Carmella vs Emma, Eva Marie

There are so many positive things to say about the divas on NXT this week. First off, I love the new remix of Emma's theme tune. It sounds so much better than the original and really portrays more of a heel vibe. I also thought both Emma and Carmella looked amazing. I loved their gear and their hair and their make up. Everyone looked great. The match itself was pretty good. Carmella still showed signs of inexperience, but she's improving constantly. Emma is also seemingly more comfortable as a heel now, which is good. She seems to be perfecting her heel mannerisms and how to walk and talk like a heel. I'm still a little confused as to what her character actually is, and why she's aligned with Dana, but I'm kinda starting to warm to this pairing. I must say, I don't really like Carmella on the mic. Her voice is really high pitched and kinda annoying, but she can already talk better than the majority of the main roster divas that we've seen, so it's okay.
The match started with Carmella taking control, but she was quickly taken down by Emma with a head scissors. The action was then quickly back and fourth for the next 30 seconds, which I liked. Carmella then held Emma in a head lock on the mat, until Emma ragged her by the hair and regained control. She then threw Carmella into the corner, only for Carmella to hit her to the face with an elbow, and go for a pretty impressive hurricanrana, which gave me major Mickie James vibes. She then clotheslined Emma once and Emma then escaped to the ropes. Whilst Carmella was distracted by the ref, she was kicked to the stomach by Emma and then slammed onto the mat by her hair. Emma went for the pin and Carmella quickly kicked out. Emma then trapped Carmella in the body scissors for quite a while, with Dana screaming "give up" from ring side. After Carmella escaped, control was again regained by Emma and Carmella ended up back in the corner, and received three shoulders to the gut. Carmella began to gain some momentum with a few clotheslines, a thesz press, and a kick to the head. She then slammed Emma into the mat and ran towards her, until she was countered by Emma, who locked in her submission for the win.

Before the match we got a short clip of Eva Marie training. It wasn't anything particularly impressive, but she's clearly miles ahead of where she was before. I feel like she won't be as impressive as people are expecting but we'll have to wait and see.
Later in the show we got a backstage segment between Emma, Dana Brooke and Sasha Banks, which was pretty average. I am really not happy about Sasha being a face, but I kinda understand it, as the main roster is lacking a real babyface diva, other than Paige. I already know what happened at the tapings, so I know this isn't leading to anything between Dana and Sasha, which I'm glad about.

This was a very good episode of NXT for the divas. I was really impressed with Carmella and Emma in the ring, and I really loved how Dana acted in the backstage segment. Dana is impressing me, and I don't get how people are negatively talking about her when she's so new. I will give the match a score of 7/10. I'm hoping we get more weeks like this in the future.

Thank you for reading.
